While we don’t normally frequent Taco Bell for our taco fixes, there are certain times when even Taco Jesus is compelled to make a run for the border. This past Sunday was one of those times.
We had plans to go out for breakfast, but then we saw a commercial advertising Taco Bell’s new Naked Chicken Chalupa which basically looks like a taco with a “shell” made out of fried chicken. We’ve been intrigued by this new item since we first saw the ads so we decided to take a road trip to our neighborhood Taco Bell and give this bad boy a try.
We were not disappointed. The chicken “shell” was wrapped around the toppings of lettuce, tomato, and some sort of very tasty avocado ranch sauce, and this delight earns two thumbs up from Taco Jesus himself. Think outside the bun and get your fanny over to Taco Bell to pick up one of these taste delights, and tell them Taco Jesus sent you.
Here at Taco Jesus Hot Sauces we have a passion for the almighty taco, and while we feel there are very few people that are as passionate about them as we are we may have found a very close second. Continue reading

Look, we get it. Nobody likes a cold taco, but there is such a thing as taking it too far. In this news report out of Houston, TX (the boyhood home of the founders of Taco Jesus Hot Sauce) we find out that some Houstonians take their taco really seriously, maybe a bit too seriously.
Houston taught us our love of tacos, and all things hot and spicy, but one thing we can promise is that we won’t shoot you if we get a cold taco. Provided of course some lame taco truck server doesn’t make us angry at 2:00 in the morning.
Don’t get me wrong, here at Taco Jesus Hot Sauces we love what we do. There is nothing better than creating awesome sauces and sharing them with the world, or is there? A reporter in San Antonio, TX is bringing the news of the San Antonio taco world to his readers this year with his “365 Days of Tacos” feature where he gets to sample and review tacos from some of San Antonio’s best restaurants.
As someone who grew up in TX where I learned my love of tacos, Tex-Mex and all things spicy, San Antonio is the heart of Tex-Mex culture and a taco lovers’ haven. I try to visit San Antonio at least once per year when I return to my Texas roots and always make it my mission to search out a new tasty taco joint or two along the way.
There are some great Texas based restaurant chains that serve up good Tex-Mex staples, but the best place to find a good taco is always at some off-the-beaten-path mom and pop taco stand or Mexican grocery store.
Be sure to follow writer Mike Sutter as he goes on a quest to bring the heart of the Tex-Mex world the ultimate taco adventure on his 365 Day of Tacos journey.
